It is over for Urban Meyer.
Unless the Jags go on a 10-game winning streak, I don’t know how he recovers from this. It isn’t even what he did was so egregious (not counting how his wife feels about it), but he has so little credibility, to begin with. This just seems like the nail in the coffin.
There was nothing to suggest he would be a good NFL coach. He doesn’t seem to know what he is doing. The Jags look as bad as ever, and the players or staff seem to have no respect for him or even like him.
When he was hired, the first thing he did was try to bring someone in who was accused of racially harassing black players at Iowa.
He got off to a bad start, and it just got worse after that.
The fact he sent the team home after a loss so he could go to Ohio and party it up with some blondes doesn’t really show the commitment the Jags were looking for.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying you need to spend 18 hours at the facility, but I am not aware of any coach who had a little more time to prepare for a game and their team 0-4 just deciding to take a mini-vacation.
Urban, in my mind, is trying to get fired, but in a way, he still gets paid his entire contract.
If he quits, he gets nothing, so maybe subconsciously, this is his way of trying to get out of the situation. He had to know that someone was going to be recording him. It is 2021 he isn’t that dumb.
WHAT IF……..
Urban Meyer is doing this on purpose to get fired and divorce, so he can go chill on college campus and head out on the milk yacht with as many young blondes as he wants?
