Swizz Beatz and Timbaland continues to show why they resurrected Hip Hop with Verzuz emerging as a global platform.
On Thursday night, Three 6 Mafia in an epic Verzuz match against Bone Thugs-N-Harmony set the internet off with funny moments, tension and a family reunion.
The Memphis and Cleveland legends took the stage going hit for hit bringing back a 1990s vibe with classics.
One of the best parts of the show was Terrence Howard coming out as DJay in the 2005 film Hustle & Flow performing “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp.” Lil Wayne, Lil Jon, Shatasha Williams, Chamillionaire, Young Buck, Lil Flip, Wiz Khalifa and others showed up in support to perform.
This was a vibe vs. club banger battle with both groups trading shots playing their classic hits such as “Chickenhead” and “East 1999.”
Bizzy Bone in the midst got upset at Three 6 Mafia for mocking him which resulted in water bottles and a mic thrown.
The South and Midwest both in the 1990s were seen as a distant liability to Hip Hop with the West Coast and East Coast at the forefront.
At the end of day, it was all love when everyone from the South came out on the stage to pay homage to 2 Pac, Kobe Bryant, Young Dolph, Nipsey Hussle, Biggie, Eazy-E, DMX, and Virgil Abloh.
In the final act, both sides gathered together for the legendary No. 1 Hip Hop homage song “The Crossroads.”
Verzuz is gearing up for 2022 with some huge names and unforgettable Hip Hop and R&B battles scheduled.
