BSO reported how Alvin Kamara told police after the Pro Bowl that a man called someone in his crew ugly, which led to his crew beating up the man outside of an elevator of the Drais hotel in Vegas. Kamara said the man also threatened to whup his ass, and he took that as a sign of disrespect. Kamara said he only beat up the man because he felt his crew was in danger and the man was running away. Kamara was with Dwight Howard’s ex-wife Te’a Cooper at the time.
The man in question was Darnell Greene, and he told a slightly different story to the cops.
According to arrest documents obtained by the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate, the fight happened around 6:30 a.m. at Cromwell Casino at Drais After Dark club. A man identified as Darnell Greene told officers that he was leaving the club for the night and made his way to the elevators. While waiting for the elevators, he said he struck up a conversation with a group of people who were also waiting. When the elevator arrived, Greene said he and the group began to the open doors when Kamara allegedly put his hand on Green’s chest, stopping him.
Greene said he pushed Kamara’s hand off his chest, and then someone pushed him causing him to stumble back.
“After Greene was pushed, he states that he was being hit and kicked by multiple people and losses consciousness,” the arrest documents say.
Police say the video evidence backs up Greene’s version of events, which is why Kamara was arrested at the Pro Bowl. Cops didn’t explain why they let Kamara play in the Pro Bowl when they had all the evidence by Saturday night.
Meanwhile, BSO has tracked down Darnell Greene’s Instagram page, where he goes by SquirtBuck. Mr. Greene says he is the CEO of a party-promoting management group called We Got Action Management.
