Vince Wilfork’s Son D’Aundre Holmes-Wilfork has pleaded guilty to stealing his father’s Super Bowl rings and other valuables worth more than $300,000 and according to the New York Post, he was given community services and five years probation after getting arrested last year.
Here is the back story;
Last year, Holmes-Wilfork was arrested in Galveston, Texas for stealing the Super Bowl rings. Other valuables that were reported missing included Wilfork’s AFC Championship rings and his Miami Hurricanes college football championship ring.
There was additional missing personal jewelry, including necklaces and earrings.
The elder Wilfork initially thought he had misplaced the rings, but investigators discovered that his son had sold them for $62,000. The rings have since been returned to Wilfork. Other items were allegedly pawned by his son, for a total of $4,600.
Holmes-Wilfork was kicked off the University of Houston football team in 2016 after he was arrested for drug possession.
His attorney told the Galveston Daily News that he has patched things up with his parents.
BSO was the first to report on the theft and he will way he was caught.
In May of 2020, Vince Wilfork reported that he was missing quite a few pieces of his valuable jewelry and he later found out it was his son D’Aundre Holmes-Wilfork according to The Daily News of Galveston.
Wilfork reported missing 2 AFC Championship rings, a College Football Championship ring, 2 Super Bowl rings, and other jewelry including bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.
The younger Wilfork tried to sell the jewelry online and only got caught because a Patriots fan told Vince that he bought the jewelry online for $62k and gave the info about the seller to police.
It is good to hear that he and his parents made up because you have to really be down on your relationship to steal from your family.
