Liz Cambage Told Team Nigeria to Go Back To Their “Third World Country” During Olympics

Liz Cambage is black so this hurts to hear even more.

Why she would say this to the Nigerian team no one knows. There are even reports she said harsher things that haven’t been spoken about yet. She needs to issue an immediate apology for this.

Liz Cambage has been accused by the former captain of Australia’s women’s national basketball team of telling opponents on team Nigeria to go back to their Third World country.

Jenna O’Hea, who was captain of Team Australia during the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo (which were played in 2021), appeared on ABC Sport in Australia as the WNBA kicked off its season over the weekend.

O’Hea was asked if it was accurate that, in an incident between Australia and Nigeria during a pre-Olympics scrimmage, Cambage had “her feathers ruffled” and told Nigerian players to “go back to your Third World country,” igniting a brawl.

“That is all one hundred percent correct,” O’Hea responded.

After the incident, Cambage withdrew from the Olympics, citing mental health.

Cambage, who recently joined the Los Angeles Sparks, issued an indirect response to O’Hea’s explosive allegations.

According to long-time NBA center Andrew Bogut this was just the PG version of what happened and the things that Cambage said were far worse.

Cambage citing mental health reasons for dropping out of the Olympics, but I am not sure you can blame mental health on this type of language towards an opponent. Cambage went to Twitter to say the truth would come to light, but didn’t deny what she said or offer any explanation. It is her own teammate that is saying it is true. If your teammate is saying that does give the accusation more credibility.

Mental health is no excuse to be a mean and evil person, you can’t just throw a mental health blanket over everything when you do something wrong.
