Here is the brilliance of Ballsack Sports.
They take a real quote and remix it in a way that sounds totally believable.
This is a perfect example. Here is what Ja Morant actually said.
Speaking with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, the Memphis Grizzlies superstar said he would have loved to play in Jordan’s era. The 22-year-old gave Jordan his flowers but said he would have “cooked” him if they played in the same era.
“I wish I played in his generation,” Morant said. “I heard he was, like how high he go about the game, just that mindset. I would have liked to play against him.
“I would have cooked him. I would have cooked him, too. Nobody got more confidence than 12. I’ll say nobody gon’ beat me one-on-one or anything. I don’t care what it is, what sports it is, soccer. Who’s the best player in soccer? Come on, we can play.”
Morant did not stop at the GOAT of basketball, he also went on to challenge Lionel Messi to a shootout. He then said he would like to play goalie against Messi.
“I wanna be the goalie. Somebody set it up,” Morant said.
Ballsack Sports remixed it to say Ja Morant says Michael Jordan would be “just another superstar” in today’s game—says today’s talent is at all-time high.
ESPN has to be better than this.
This is like the fifth time that ESPN has been caught quoting a fake Tweet. It is terrible when they put it on social media, but it is worse when they read it aloud on Sportscenter and then have Kendrick Perkins speak about live on air.
The funny thing is they quoted Bleacher Report instead of Ballsack Sports, which makes you wonder if they know what they are doing.
