College football is back, and the craziness of college football season has already shown up. No game was crazier than last night’s Florida State vs. LSU.
FSU had complete control of the game and was up 14 with a few mins left to play, but then the craziness amplified because LSU turned the ball over, and it looked like FSU had the game sealed until they fumbled on the goal line.
That led to a 99-yard drive, and everyone thought the game was going to OT until the kick to tie the game got blocked, which led to the LSU loss.
Everyone at LSU took a lot of criticism after the game. From the Athletic Director to head coach Brian Kelly to the players, with WR Kayshon Boutte getting a lot of it.
Boutte was a no-show with his two catches for 20 yards. A lot goes into why he had the game he had, mainly drops, but fans expected more from him, and he heard about it. It got so bad that he scrubbed everything that had anything to do with LSU from his social media.
Kayshon Boutte had an interesting offseason at LSU as he recovered from a leg injury that kept him out of the final 6 games (and the bowl game) during the 2021 season.
Boutte was called out on a couple of occasions by new head coach Brian Kelly, but seemed to respond to the challenges and was on the field in Week 1 for the Tigers.
During the devastating loss to Florida State, though, Boutte was basically a non-factor. He recorded only 2 catches for 20 yards in the 24-23 defeat.
Now, it appears he’s taking out his frustrations on social media. As you can see below, he had deleted all mentions of LSU from his Instagram page following the game:
It seems like he could be done with the school but maybe that’s just his way of dealing with things. We’ll find out more throughout the week.
