According to reports, the University of Utah is investigating wild claims that two women attended a Utah college football game wearing nothing but body paint above the waist.
The Spun got details;
Melea Johnson, who attended Saturday’s Utah game, described what happened at the stadium. Her initial reaction to seeing these women was that she had to shield her children from them.
“They had a haphazard, just kind of sloppily painted on their back, and we’re like, is that all they’re wearing? We didn’t know, and our first instinct is we have our kids with us and oh my gosh, we have to shield them,” Johnson said, via KUTV.
A Utah spokesperson told KUTV that the school is still conducting its investigation.
President Taylor Randall and athletic director Mark Harlan have already issued a statement on the type of behavior they expect from the fans at games.
“We want to be very clear that profanity, public intoxication, rude and disrespectful behavior, racial and derogatory comments or verbal attacks directed at individuals or groups will not be tolerated,” their statement read. “Anyone who engages in unsafe or inappropriate conduct will be removed from the premises, may lose all privileges and access for future university events and could be reported to law enforcement.”
This is more interesting than the game was.
Multiple streaks were kept intact in the No. 13 Utes home opener as they easily beat Southern Utah by a score of 73-7. Outside of a boggish stretch of five minutes in the first quarter, it was a dominant win for the Utes.
Utah extends their home win streak to nine games, stretching back to last season while the team has RJ Hubert to thank for keeping the other streak in place.
Hubert had a 39-yard pick six in the game that extended the streak to 19 seasons in which Utah had a pick six. Hubert was a big part of the intense Utah defense that only allowed SUU to put up 85-yards. Connor O’Toole led the Utes in tackles with five that included a TFL and half of a sack.
On the other side, Cameron Rising had a massive bounce back game for the Utes as he went 17 of 23 for 254 yards and three touchdowns. Bryson Barnes took over at QB for a while in the second half and was able to go six of six for 98 yards. Ja’Quinden Jackson did not attempt a pass while at QB but did rush for 29 yards on two carries.
