The cops didn’t know who Stefon Diggs was, so they had to stop him after arriving at the hospital to be by Damar Hamlin’s side. He was allowed into the hospital after ESPN reporter Coley Harvey explained to the cops who he was.
TPS got more;
The only thing on the minds of the Buffalo Bills players at the moment is the health and well-being of their teammate, Damar Hamlin.
One of those Bills players, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, arrived at the hospital moments ago to be by Hamlin’s side. The star wideout arrived in a track suit, and as he made his way into the hospital to check on the injured Bills safety, he was stopped by police officers who didn’t know who he was.
Luckily for him, ESPN reporter Coley Harvey was present outside the hospital to explain to the officers exactly who Diggs was.
Harvey claims that Diggs told the officers that he had to be there for his teammate. The ESPN reporter was walking with Diggs at the time and says he “vouched” for Diggs, who was eventually allowed to enter the hospital.
It’s a scary moment for all Bills players, as their teammate collapsed on the field after a violent collision with Bengals wideout Tee Higgins. Medics rushed to administer CPR to Hamlin on the field and intubated the safety before rushing him to a local hospital.
The latest update claimed that Hamlin was in critical condition, but it was also reported by his marketing rep that he had his vitals back and was put to sleep so that doctors could place a breathing tube down his throat.
After being let into the hospital, Diggs eventually left and returned to Buffalo with the team.
