The Rams made it to a couple of Super Bowls and won one with a thought process of worrying about the salary cap later.
It appears after going 5-12 this season that later is now.
They want to drop all their older, more expensive players and start anew. They already told Bobby Wagner to hit the bricks, and now it appears Jalen Ramsey is also on his way out.
The Rams have had trade talks regarding cornerback Jalen Ramsey, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Friday afternoon. Pelissero added that league sources believe it’s very likely the six-time Pro Bowl CB will be dealt with in the coming weeks.
Ramsey, who has played with Los Angeles since the 2019 season, is due $17 million in 2023, and a trade would clear much-needed cap space for the Rams, according to Pelissero.
This seems to be news to Jalen Ramsey, who had this to say on Twitter.

The “story” sounds better than the truth sometimes I’ll admit that… I live in the truth tho. God is so great! I am blessed & highly favored! 🙏🏾

We will see shortly if this was a fake rumor or the truth.
The Rams are in salary cap hell, which is one of the reasons they got rid of Wagner.
The Los Angeles Rams and veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner have mutually agreed to part ways, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Wagner will not be officially released until March 15.
L.A. signed Wagner to a five-year deal worth up to $65 million in March 2022. He’s now going to be a free agent.
By cutting Wagner, the Rams are saving $5 million in cap space in 2023, per ESPN’s Nick Wagoner. They’re also taking on $7.5 million in dead money this coming season.
While NFL salary-cap and contract expert Jason Fitzgerald of Over the Cap speculated that Wagner might have waived his guarantee in order to be released, the eight-time Pro Bowler confirmed he did not in a since-deleted tweet.
Had Wagner waived the guarantee, the Rams would have saved $8.6 million against the salary cap.
Who do you believe?
The media or Ramsey?
