If you think we will make it out of the second quarter of the year without any police brutality against black people, especially, then brace yourselves because a Los Angeles County deputy is out to surprise you.
According to reports, the police were called to WinCo Foods in Lancaster on a couple who allegedly stole a cake. While the officer was interrogating the husband, his wife was seen recording the incident. The officer then tackled the unarmed woman to the ground before attempting to put cuffs on her in a drastic wrestling move. To the bystanders, it was gruesome and unwarranted.
While the woman was being tackled on the ground, her husband was heard saying the officer should take it easy because she is suffering from cancer, not even that deterred him from doing better. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into the gangster deputy’s actions.
According to VladTV;
A Los Angeles County deputy is under investigation after a video surfaced of him slamming a woman down to the ground for recording him. In the events leading up to the incident, the deputy arrived on the scene to explore allegations that a married couple had stolen a cake from WinCo Foods in Lancaster, California. While placing handcuffs on the male suspect, deputies noticed that the female involved was recording the arrest. Subsequently, one of the deputies wrestled her down to the pavement. The on-camera incident displayed the officer with his knee on the female’s neck while the man in handcuffs reportedly yelled, “Don’t slam her down like that, she has cancer!”
“I was disheartened,” said an eyewitness named Raycine Ector. “That could’ve been my grandmother, my aunt, my sister. As you see, the lady in the video was just simply recording her husband’s interaction with the deputies, and they came over and attacked her. I would say attack, he grabbed her by her neck and slung her down.”
Shortly after the incident, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement:
“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has opened an investigation into this incident. While the Department does not make statements related to ongoing investigations, Sheriff Luna has made it clear that he expects Department personnel to treat all members of the public with dignity and respect, and that personnel who do not uphold our training standards will be held accountable. In the interest of transparency with our community, the Sheriff’s Department is releasing body-worn camera video from the incident.”
We are in 2023, 247 years after independence, and we can’t trust the police with our safety, we continue to record cases like this from time to time, and we should be ashamed.
