On the one hand, Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen discuss divorces as engagement and wedding rumors circulate on the other. And they’ve witnessed their fair share of contentious divorces. Larsa Pippen and Scottie Pippen‘s marriage came to a harsh end with a sizable divorce settlement.
Marcus has also witnessed the pricey divorce of his parents, Michael Jordan and Juanita Vanoy. Which makes them both cautious about safeguarding their separate holdings. Larsa and Marcus have spoken out in the past regarding the value of a prenuptial agreement.
This week on Separation Anxiety, they brought up the matter once more. Marcus’ perspective on prenups may be influenced by the unpleasant lesson he has learnt from watching his parents’ divorce.
Marcus and Larsa talk about prenups once more
Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan have had a hectic week. The duo became the subject of engagement and wedding rumors on a date night in LA. This week on Separation Anxiety, they would lay the rumors to rest before discussing divorces.
The topic was Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s 14-month marriage ending divorce. Larsa didn’t appear to anticipate the marriage’s success right away. A prenuptial agreement between Spears and Asghari ensured the Pop Princess wouldn’t be required to pay her soon-to-be ex-husband spousal support, complicating their divorce.
Larsa thinks Asghari will challenge the prenup in order to obtain alimony. She doesn’t believe he has a chance of succeeding. Pippen would be aware. In a settlement, she received fifty percent of Scottie Pippen’s retirement fund. The NBA champion attempted to fight the prenuptial agreement, but his argument failed.
Marcus is likewise confident that the prenup will keep Britney safe. Marriages “can become messy.” And he hoped that with Pippen, he would never reach that stage. He thinks the prenup should be upheld no matter what. “I think prenups exist for a reason. Unless there is a breach of an agreement, or some sort of clause both parties mutually agreed to gets breached, then the prenup should be enforcing.”
He has a rather conscious opinion. After all, his father reinforced his present marriage with a prenup too, having learnt from the past.
Insurance for Michael Jordan’s nuptials
In 1989, Michael Jordan wed Juanita Vanoy. Jasmine, Marcus, and Jeffrey are their three kids. Although Jordan and Vanoy would divorce in 2006, the divorce settlement was the main subject of discussion.
The newly retired NBA player paid a price for not having a prenuptial agreement.
Jordan was had to pay his ex-wife a divorce settlement of $168 million. At the time, it was the largest celebrity divorce settlement ever, and it is still one of the most expensive celebrity splits ever.
“His Airness” left with Yvette Prieto, the model. They started dating in 2011, and they were married in 2013. However, not without the billionaire safeguarding his wealth. He insisted that they sign a prenuptial agreement that would shield them both.
If they divorce, the prenup stipulates that Prieto will receive $1 million for each year they were married. She would receive $5 million per year if they stayed together for ten years. No justification exists for enforcing this prenup as of yet. Larsa and Marcus concur that they would unquestionably sign a prenuptial agreement. They do not want a divorce, though, because they have previously seen how messy it can be.
