After Being Accused of Not Raising Her Son Properly by Colorado State Head Coach Jay Norvell, Deion Sanders’ Mother Had a Strong Message for Him

The mother of Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has now been mentioned in the animosity between Colorado and Colorado State. Sanders addressed remarks made by Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell before to his team’s 43-35 double-overtime victory over the Rams, but he wasn’t the only one to do so.

Connie, his mother, then spoke on the locker room mic and said

“I raised him right. I also told him to always be yourself. If you have to kick (a), kick (a)!”

When Sanders made a comment regarding his wardrobe before to the game, he was making reference to Norvell’s critique.

“I sat down with ESPN today. And I don’t care if they hear it in Boulder. I told them, ‘I took my hat off, and I took my glasses off.’ And I said, ‘When I talk to grownups, I take my hat and my glasses off.’ That’s what my mother taught me. They’re not going to like us no matter what we say or do. It doesn’t matter. So, let’s go up there and play.”

The narratives were dominated by trash talk, which probably benefited the game’s numbers even if it was a fantastic game overall.

The Pac-12 team had no fear of Colorado State despite their perfect record. All game long, they held the lead. Shedeur Sanders, the team’s backup quarterback, took over in the final minutes and orchestrated a 98-yard touchdown drive.

Later, he would connect with Michael Harrison for the two-point conversion to force overtime after scoring on a 45-yard pass from Jimmy Horn Jr. In the end, Sanders  had the last laugh.
