Long Island QB Chris Howell’s Irrational Throwing Motion Has College Football Fans Completely Baffled

A quarterback at a tiny college who is not well-known is the talk of college football enthusiasts.

Last Saturday’s game between Baylor and Long Island University didn’t appear on any sports show’s highlight reel, but it did have one unintentional highlight when it brought attention to LIU quarterback Chris Howell.

Not because he might be selected in the future draught, but rather because no one has ever seen a throwing motion like his. The left-handed quarterback in a game between the Long Island Sharks and the Baylor Bears had the crowd going wild with his release and clumsy throwing motion. You simply cannot and would never teach this.

The left-hander throws passes with a sweeping sidearm action. One of his best throws was 35 yards and was precisely placed for Aviyon Smith-Mack, the receiver. In addition to the aforementioned 35-yard pass, he only attempted nine other throws throughout the entire game, completing only three of them for a total of six further yards.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback has completed 13 of 29 passes for 180 yards, one interception, and no touchdowns so far this season. On the ground, he has contributed 19 rushes for 58 yards and two scores.
