It has been a while since US tennis has been this good and it’s glorious to see.
For a while, it was Serena and Venus Williams carrying the weight of all of US tennis on their shoulders and it has been a while since anyone has been able to carry the weight of a whole country.
For the first time since 2005, three Americans have progressed to the quarterfinals of the men’s draw. It also means there is guaranteed to be at least one US star in the semifinals.https://t.co/0OIBD7jWbC

Now, we have a few American athletes that are ready to be stars in their own rights on the tennis courts. One of them being the youngster Coco Gauff.

Since stepping onto the worldwide tennis scene, Coco has shown that she can be a star and she hasn’t let up since. Most recently at the US Open in Queens. Coco has been on fire lately after taking a first round loss at Wimbledon being 16-1 since then and a win at the Citi Open in Washington and the Cincinnati Masters.
She continued her hot streak with a quarterfinal win over Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets to move on to her first US Open semifinal. To make things better, she becomes the second American teen to reach the semis at the US Open since Serena Williams in 2001.

Some phenomenal company for Coco. Next up will be the winner of Sorana Cirstea and Karolina Muchova for a spot in the finals.
