Kadarius Toney Is “Good to Go” for Week 1’s Matchup Against the Lions, According to Chiefs Coach Andy Reid

Chris Jones, a defensive tackle for the Chiefs, might not play against the Lions in the first game of the regular season. They’ll probably have Kadarius Toney as their receiver.

Toney, who underwent another knee treatment and missed the majority of training camp and the offseason, is expected to play on Thursday. “Right now, He’s good to go” “He’s moving around pretty good.” Andy Reid , coach of Chiefs told CBSSports.com.

Kadarius Toney journey till now

Last year, the Giants’ first-round draft pick in 2021, Toney, was traded to the Chiefs. Since moving Tyreek Hill in the 2022 offseason, the Chiefs have not had a genuine No. 1 receiver, and they are hoping he can fill that role.

With the Chiefs, Toney had 14 catches for 171 yards and two scores in seven regular-season games. He also added 59 yards and a score while rushing. He only made one reception in Super Bowl LVII, but it resulted in a crucial touchdown for the Chiefs’ comeback victory over the Eagles in the second half.

On Monday, the first injury report for 2023 will be released. It will reveal whether or not he is still thought to be injured, and if so, whether or not and how much he practiced.
