Jameis Winston, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, is still demonstrating that he belongs on the club even though he doesn’t start every game.
The quarterback once again demonstrated his outstanding leadership after the Saints’ victory against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. Winston was shown in an ESPN video waiting for each teammate and employee before going into the locker room.
#Saints QB Jameis Winston shook the hands of every player and staff member before he entered the locker room tonight..
He also apparently does this every game dating all the way back to college at FSU.

Even though Winston isn’t their primary quarterback, he is leading by example for his teammates and drawing the attention of other teams in the league. Winston has so far this season contributed positively to the Saints without ever setting foot on the field during a game.
As the starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, Winston has had a bad run. He had a knee injury in 2021 after taking over for Drew Brees, and it proved out to be an ACL tear that would ruin his season. In that season as a starter, he had a 5-2 record.
On a two-year contract, he would rejoin the team, but after just three games, he would fracture his back. Winston was not given the chance to reclaim his position before Andy Dalton assumed control. For the first time in ten years, the Saints are 2-0 with Derek Carr on the squad.
