According to TMZ, cops tased former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Anthony Chickillo this week after they claimed he had an incident inside a doctor’s office.
The Hialeah Police Department said that Chickillo was inside a hospital in Hialeah, Florida when he suddenly started “attacking everyone,” including his father with whom he had engaged in a wrestling bout.
“Witnesses say he suddenly snapped and began ‘trashing’ an office, breaking things and throwing chairs,” according to TMZ.
A history of violence
Police arrived and tased a shirtless, barefoot Chickillo before handcuffing him and escorting him out of the area. He was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold rather than being arrested, and when he is released, no arrest will be made as a result of the doctor’s office’s decision not to file charges.
According to Tatu Baby, Chickillo’s girlfriend, “It was just a medical situation,” she told TMZ. She says it has to do with the concussions he sustained while playing football.
For a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, Chickillo had a run-in with the law in 2019, but the charges were dismissed when she refused to testify against him. He spent his final two seasons with the Denver Broncos before being eventually released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
