On Sunday, Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase helped his team defeat the Cardinals by setting a new team record most receptions in a single game.
In the 34-20 triumph, Chase had 15 receptions for 192 yards and three touchdowns. This season, he’s on track to smash several Bengals records and one NFL record. 8.8 receptions and 95.2 yards are what Chase averages each game. He is now on track to finish the season with 150 receptions, 1,618 yards, and 10 touchdowns.
A new NFL record would be set with the 150 catches. He would also surpass his season total for receiving yards with the Bengals. NFL receptions leader Marvin Harrison of the Colts has 149.
Despite a sluggish start to the season, the Bengals’ offense has won two of their last three games thanks in large part to Chase. He stands an excellent chance of surpassing T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s (112) Bengals record for most catches in a season, even if his receptions decline a little.
