Head coach of the Minnesota Vikings Kevin O’Connell has provided a concerning update regarding standout wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
Due to a hamstring injury, the wide receiver has not been available for the Vikings since Week 5. Speaking with reporters this past weekend, O’Connell said he had no update on Jefferson’s condition and didn’t think he would return just yet.
He had a similar assessment of Nick Mullens, the quarterback. The HC said
“I do not have that information as of right now,” “I think we’re going to have some end-of-week assessments and see where those guys are at and we’ll continue those on into the next week, and when the time’s right to get those windows opened up, we’ll do that and get those guys back practicing again.”
Kevin O’Connell said today that he doesn’t know yet if either Justin Jefferson or Nick Mullens will be ready to return to practice next week, the earliest the Vikings could open their windows to come back from IR.

In five games this season, Jefferson has racked up 571 yards on 36 receptions, averaging close to 60 yards per catch. In addition to losing starting quarterback Kirk Cousins for the remainder of the season due to an Achilles injury, Minnesota is currently in a difficult situation.
