James Harden On What He Meant When He Said The Sixers Had Him On A Leash & Why He Feels Like He Isn’t A System Player But The System

After months of negotiations, James Harden was finally traded to the Clippers like he wanted.

Over the summer we found out just how unhappy Harden was with his situation and it showed even more once the season started since he didn’t really show up to the Sixers facility until he had to.

He’s now a member of the Clippers and had his introductory press conference and he didn’t really hold back. The biggest takeaway was how he felt on the floor while with the Sixers saying they had him on a leash and that he isn’t a system player because he is a system.

He’s getting a lot of heat for the not being a system player quote but it’s kind of being taken out of context. Seems like he really meant that he isn’t a player that plays well within a specific system and that he needs more freedom to thrive and with the Sixers it felt like he was in constraints.
