Mac Jones when asked about why the Patriots didn’t go for the Hail Mary before halftime threw a little shade at the Patriot coaches and that got NFL fans dropping reactions on X, formerly, Twitter.
Mac was asked why about the Patriots coaches’ decision not to go for the Hail Mary and this is what he had to say which fans think it’s a shade.
“No clue. There’s 2 seconds left & we needed 60 yards so… I don’t know”
According to the Post;
Things in New England seem to be getting worse by the week and now the club sits at 2-8 after their latest loss, during which Jones was benched near the end of the game and then questioned a playcalling decision that occurred near the end of the first half.
The play in question occurred with two seconds left in the first half when the Pats opted to go for a short pass instead of the hail mary down 7-3.
Boston Globe NFL writer Ben Volin posted on X that Pats head coach Bill Belichick had said in the past that Jones does not have the arm strength to throw a hail mary.
The Patriots eventually turned to Bailey Zappe with 1:52 left in the game and New England down by four.
“I thought it was time for a change,” Belichick told reporters after the game about the decision to take Jones out.
The camp of the New England Patriots seems to be shaking but hopefully, they bounce back and put some smiles on the faces of their fans.
