The soundbite of the year (so far) was delivered by Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud during Sunday’s exciting 21-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
The episode “Inside the NFL” featured Stroud showing off his sense of humor while being mic’d up in Week 11. Coaches are informed by Stroud that he was unable to hold the football because it was “wet” after he throws a touchdown to tight end Dalton Schultz.
Then, Stroud approaches center Michael Deiter, a teammate, and says, “You’re wet.” Subsequently, Stroud requests a towel and gently pats Deiter’s neck and chest. Next, Stroud requests that Deiter be given a second jersey. There’s another one for the 27-year-old.

Stroud again led Houston to victory with a 336-yard, two-TD performance, while throwing three interceptions. The Texans are currently 6-4 and the sixth seed in the AFC; however, they might take the top spot in the AFC South if they defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
This year’s No. 2 pick in the draft is headed for Offensive Rookie of the Year. With just five interceptions in 2,962 passing yards and 17 touchdowns, Stroud has completed 62.8 percent of his pass attempts.
The Texans’ win total from 2020 (four), 2021 (four), and 2022 (three) has already been reached. If they don’t lose their next seven games, Houston will make the playoffs for the first time in four years.
