Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, will have surgery on his throwing shoulder, ending his season.
The athlete had two MRIs on Monday following two injuries he sustained during the first half of Sunday’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens, the team revealed in a statement released on Wednesday morning.
His left foot had a high-ankle sprain, according to one scan, while his right shoulder had a displaced fracture, according to another.

After Cleveland won 33–31 thanks to Watson’s ability to complete the game, he later complained of shoulder soreness.
It was suggested that in order to prevent more structural damage, the shoulder injury would need to be operated on right away. The quarterback is anticipated to fully recover in time for the 2024 campaign after being placed on the injury reserve.
