The Chargers are now 5-9 on the season following a 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders the day before.
The Chargers were rated 17th in points allowed per game, 16th in points scored per game, 27th in yards per carry, and 29th in overall defense as of Thursday.
In a season that is destined to end in disappointment, Justin Herbert is out for the entire season. Not to mention the historic postseason loss to the Jaguars 11 months prior, in which the Chargers lost a 27-point lead.
Staley led the Chargers to a 24–24 record in 48 games during his three years as head coach.
