Conor McGregor has seemed impatient about his UFC return on several occasions. On his recent visit to watch ‘Day of Reckoning’ boxing event ft. Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and others, ‘Notorious’ hinted at working on a potential clash against Manny Pacquiao in the Saudi.
He sounded off about the UFC, citing how the MMA promotion has failed to offer him the right opponent. Although Michael Chandler has always been eager to fight, Conor McGregor blamed the UFC for not advancing the talks pf his return.
Meanwhile, UFC CEO Dana White has publicly given an update on his biggest superstar. It looks likely that we will see the Irishman make his comeback in 2024 and things are aligned on those plans.
In a recent interview, Dana White gave an update on Conor McGregor and said, “We talked tonight. I’m in Abu Dhabi, he’s in Dubai. We’re gonna figure something out. We’re talking.”

McGregor has been in the Middle East for a long time. He has appeared in several boxing events there and has also been undergoing an active training camp. It’s been over two years since he has competed in a professional fight. Following two consecutive losses to Dustion Poirier, many people had predicted McGregor’s career to end. Nevertheless, he is back for another run and seems optimistic about gaining the top-tier spot in the UFC once again.
When Can Conor McGregor Return To Fighting?
Dana White has announced the headliners up until UFC 299, in March. So, McGregor can only return after that. UFC 300 in April is expected to be a massive event . Now, ‘Notorious’ has cited his intentions of making a comeback at UFC 300.
Dana White, however, hasn’t reflected similar emotions. Meanwhile, McGregor’s coach John Kavanaugh has claimed that they are looking at July to set the suitable return. So, it’s s till too early to predict when Conor McGregor would enter the UFC octagon again. But it is extremely likely that we see him fight in 2024.
