In response to Shohei Ohtani‘s record-breaking contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs had an incredible reply.
The two-way superstar agreed to a 10-year contract worth $700 million on Saturday afternoon, making it the largest deal in professional sports history. The record for the highest-paid sports contract in history was previously held by soccer legend Lionel Messi ($674 million).

With a $450 million contract, Mahomes is the NFL’s highest paid player. He commented on Ohtani’s new deal as follows.

Mike Trout, Ohtani’s former teammate, previously had the highest contract in MLB history, for $426.5 million spread over 12 years. In 2019, Trout agreed to the terms.
