After the Philadelphia Eagles‘ humiliating blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday during Super Wild Card Weekend, they did not waste any time in making changes to their coaching staff.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that head coach Nick Sirianni fired defensive coordinator Sean Desai. Matt Patricia took over as the defense’s playcaller back in Week 15.
Sources: #Eagles coach Nick Sirianni has let go defensive coordinator Sean Desai, who lost play-calling duties late in the season.
Desai is likely to be in the mix for other DC opportunities.

When Jonathan Gannon joined the Arizona Cardinals as head coach last season, the Eagles lost their important defensive coordinator. Desai, 40, was signed as the Eagles’ new defensive coordinator after serving as Pete Carroll’s assistant in Seattle for a year.
In 2021, Desai replaced the retired Chuck Pagano as the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.
