Shaquille O’Neal Son Teases Basketball Comeback, Leaving Fans Intrigued with Enigmatic Instagram Message

Taking to his Instagram Stories, O’Neal addressed the lack of updates on his basketball journey and left his followers intrigued by his enigmatic words. “I been missin…it’s for a reason,” he wrote before adding a bold statement reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s famous quote, “I’ll be back mfs. Remember that.”

In high school, Shareef O’Neal was a highly sought-after recruit, ranking no. 18 overall in the class of 2018. He received offers from top programs such as Baylor, LSU, UCLA, Kansas State, and USC. During that time, he also showcased his skills in the Nike EYBL circuit alongside fellow prospect Bol Bol.

Initially committed to the University of Arizona, O’Neal had to overcome a setback when he missed his freshman season due to health issues, necessitating the use of a heart monitor. After being diagnosed with a heart condition by the UCLA medical staff, he underwent surgery on December 12, 2018. Showing resilience, O’Neal made his debut for UCLA in the 2019-20 season but later transferred to LSU, his father’s alma mater, to continue his college career. While hampered by a foot injury, the 6’10” forward averaged 2.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.1 assists during his time at LSU.

Despite the hype surrounding Shaq’s son, O’Neal went undrafted in the 2022 NBA draft. However, he had the opportunity to showcase his skills with his father’s former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, during the 2022 NBA Summer League. He subsequently signed with the NBA G-League Ignite, but official records for the past year are not available.
