In federal court on Wednesday, the notorious Kansas City Chiefs superfan “ChiefsAholic” entered a guilty plea to charges pertaining to a spate of bank robberies in seven states. He may spend up to 50 years behind bars.
Xaviar Babudar, has confessed to stealing over $800,000 from bank robberies in the Midwest in recent years and using the money to wager on Chiefs games. The 29-year-old entered a guilty plea to one count each of bank robbery, money laundering, and moving stolen property over state lines.
Babudar can be imprisoned for up to 50 years without the possibility of release. The date of his sentence is July 10.
“ChiefsAholic” allegations
Babudar acknowledged that he started robbing banks in March 2022, taking thousands of dollars from other states in that same year. He was released on bond in February 2023 after arriving in Oklahoma in December 2022.
Prosecutors claim that in June 2022, before the 2022 NFL season began, Babudar wagered $10,000 at an Illinois casino on two different outcomes: the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes receiving MVP of Super Bowl 57.
