At an Atlanta 7-on-7 event, many people attacked former NFL MVP Cam Newton.
The top-ranked player in the 2011 draft, Newton, seemed overjoyed at his foundation-sponsored 7-on-7 football competition in Atlanta. In the footage, the 34-year-old is shown being punched many times while fending off at least four attackers.
It seems that neither side wants the police to get involved in any manner in the days that follow. TMZ claimed that because no one wanted to press charges against one another, neither Cam Newton nor the other attackers would go to jail for their actions.

“Officers at the scene wrote in the docs they don’t know why it all started … but at least one cop recognized right away that Newton was involved due to “his hat and hairstyle.”
Another officer stated in the docs he saw two males “grabbing and pushing” Newton … and he raced over to break things up.
However, once the dust settled … the officer wrote that nobody asked for medical assistance — and furthermore, no one wanted to see anyone go to jail.”
“Neither Mr. Newton or any of the other involved persons who remained on scene indicated that they required medical attention or wished to pursue criminal charges,” the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
“The responding officers completed an information-only incident report to document what had occurred. At this time, it is unknown how or why the scuffle occurred.”
How the situation escalated recounted by an observer
Both coaches TJ and Steph Brown, who witnessed the altercation, have provided their accounts of what transpired and what enraged the former NFL player. He initially grabbed Steph, and then TJ delivered the opening blow.
TJ then gave an explanation of the altercation that occurred in a parking lot.
“Sunday comes, I’m walking through the parking lot, walking to the field,” he recounted. “Cam jumps out of his car and yells, ‘Hey, all that sorry s— ain’t gonna work today. What we betting today? What we betting?’ I’m like, ‘I ain’t betting you, bro. I already beat you three, four times. You got to beat me first.’ He like, ‘What we betting? I got plenty of money. I ain’t ever running out of money.’ That’s when I told him, ‘That’s your problem. All you care about is money. You think money is everything. You can’t buy me.’ And I walk off.”
“It’s probably three minutes into the game, he’s sitting up top with all his kids around him under a tent yelling down on us,”
“‘Hey, I know that play. That’s my stuff. I taught y’all everything y’all know. I’m y’all daddy. I made y’all. I’m the reason for everything y’all got going on.’ He’s just yelling all this stuff.”
Cam last played for Panthers back in 2021.
