Trae Young is looking to shatter the record this weekend since no Atlanta Hawks player has ever won a three-point contest on All-Star Saturday Night.
Young is not a new competitor; he has participated in the competition twice before. Buddy Hield defeated Young two years ago, and Karl Anthony-Towns, who is competing this year, defeated Young the year before.
Mike Bibby lost in 2009 to Daequan Cook, while Kyle Korver lost in 2015 against Steph Curry. The only other Hawks players to enter the game are those two.

But all of that might alter this season. Based on the most recent Fanduel three-point contest odds, Young is favored in a few areas. In terms of average three-pointers made per game, Young is ranked fifth in the NBA, while the four players who are ranked higher than him are not playing in the match. In terms of total three-pointers made, Young ranks third in the NBA behind Steph Curry and Luka Doncic. Young might find that a third attempt at winning works this time around after failing the first two times.
Though not by much, Lillard (+370) is the favorite to retain his three-point championship. There are several strong contenders for the win: Markkanen (+800), Mitchell (+950), Brunson (+700), Towns (+700), Young (+550), Beasley (+650), and Haliburton (+440).
