With 1:25 left, the officials missed the first missed call, a three-second infraction on Clint Capela. As stated by the NBA in their play description, “Capela (ATL) is in the lane for longer than three seconds.”

Thirty-two seconds remained, and Jaren Jackson Jr.’s shooting foul against Bogdan Bogdanovic was the second missed call by the referees.

NBA’s explanation of the entire event

The NBA stated in their play explanation that “Jackson Jr. (MEM) swipes down and initiates contact to Bogdanovic’s (ATL) left knee, causing him to trip.”

Clint Capela should have been called for a shooting foul on Jaren Jackson Jr.’s attempt with 22.5 seconds left, marking the third and final missed call on the Last Two Minute Report. The NBA wrote the following in their explanation of this play:

“Capela (ATL) initiates contact to Jackson Jr.’s (MEM) wrist that affects his shot attempt in the lane.”

Nothing that occurs before the final two minutes of a game is made public because the NBA only releases explanations for calls made in the crucial moments of close games. The NBA listed three missed calls for this one.
