The only bright spot in the Los Angeles Clippers‘ disastrous loss to the inexperienced Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night could have been James Harden’s historic performance.
James Harden moved up to 20th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list on Sunday night, surpassing Vince Carter.

Harden shot 3/10 from the field against the Atlanta Hawks throughout the majority of the game. In the end, he finished the game with 9 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Harden would have had a respectable stat line if not for his poor shooting percentage, but the Clippers needed more from him.
Clippers just don’t inspire even after James Harden’s comeback
The Clippers’ game on Sunday night was likely their worst defeat of the year. The Atlanta Hawks, who were missing Trae Young and a number of other key players, were up to 29 points ahead of the team at home. The Hawks actually had more assists than baskets made by the Clippers.
On Sunday night, the Clippers had almost everything they could have asked for. They faced a losing team without its best player, dodged an early start time, and got James Harden back. All of it didn’t matter, somehow, and LA had one of their poorest games of the year.
The Los Angeles Clippers, who were aiming for the top position, are now only one win ahead of the fifth spot. There needs to be a change.
