Luka Doncic‘s status for Saturday’s game against the Detroit Pistons is doubtful. The playing status of Dallas Mavericks star player Luka Doncic has been reduced ahead of the team’s game against the Detroit Pistons this Saturday.
It appears that Doncic has an elbow sprain, based on the Mavericks injury report. This makes him doubtful for Saturday night’s game against Detroit.
Doncic is available for the Mavs and has been healthy lately. Prior to the Mavs’ one-game return to action on February 2, they played the Milwaukee Bucks on January 31. This was his last absence.
Mavs have struggled even with Luka Doncic playing
Doncic has been available for all eight games since the Mavericks’ return from the All-Star break on February 22.
In that span, the All-Star has averaged 38 minutes on the court and has scored 37 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and provided 11 assists per contest while making 52 percent of his shots.
Doncic is available, but Dallas has had trouble recovering from the break. The Mavericks are still having trouble avoiding the Western Conference Play-In Tournament, as they have only won three of their last eight games.
With or without Doncic, Dallas will be the favorite going into the game on Saturday, but Detroit has been playing well lately against its rivals, winning two of their previous five games. Doncic faced the Pistons seven times in his career. He averaged 36 points, ten assists, and eight rebounds in those games.
Doncic dominated his most recent game against the Pistons, which took place in January of last year, scoring 53 points in just 36 minutes.
