All NFL teams often give their head coaches and management contract extensions following a Super Bowl-winning campaign. Thus, it seemed peculiar that the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, declined to extend GM Brett Veach and HC Andy Reid’s contracts. Following their first Super Bowl victory in this cycle in 2019, the two last signed extensions. Since then, the two have oddly been underpaid without contracts, even though they won the Super Bowl the previous season. But everything has changed as of today.
Andy Reid, the 65-year-old head coach of the Chiefs, has been approaching retirement for the past few years, which has raised some concerns. After this season’s Super Bowl victory, many people predicted that Coach Reid would put up his boots. However, those worries have been allayed by his most recent affirmation that he is prepared for the three peat. Therefore, it has been confirmed by NFL Insider Tom Pelissero in his most recent report that Reid and Veach’s contracts are being extended by the Chiefs. The KC Chiefs confirmed the news, revealing that Reid will be the highest paid NFL coach with his new contract, which extends until 2029.
#Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt told Andy Reid he wanted to make him the NFL’s highest-paid coach, and now he is, on a deal that runs through 2029, per sources.

Although the salaries and contracts of NFL support staff members are often kept confidential, it is estimated that elite NFL coaches make an average of $15 million annually. Additionally, coaches are not compensated much; Sean Payton is now the best paid coach, taking home an estimated $18 million annually. It’s reasonable to presume that Reid will make more than $18 million a year with the Chiefs given claims that he has been given the highest compensation.
The duration of Coach Reid’s 2029 contract extension is similarly close to that of Patrick Mahomes’. The contracts’ financial terms, however, are very different yet similar. This is the method.
