Jamal Murray has asserted that he and Nikola Jokic are the league’s best duo. The Denver Nuggets are without a doubt the greatest team in the NBA right now and are riding a generational run over the previous several seasons. Norris Cole, a former teammate of LeBron James with the Miami Heat, disputed Murray’s assertion.
Cole stated in a recent “Gil’s Arena” episode,
“I’m going to say cap. Because, they are a great duo but Joker is the one really, you know.”
Cole used LeBron James and Anthony Davis as well as the recent duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, who the former guard believes make a stronger case, to support his position. Cole is also of the opinion that Jokic and Murray have quite different play styles. He added,
“When you’re talking about the level of play, like Joker is at the top. You can’t say the same about Jamal Murray. You can say Dame and Giannis are top 10 players every year in the league. LeBron and AD are top 10 players every year in the league,”
The two-time NBA champion maintained that Devin Booker and Kevin Durant were the best duo when it came to 5-on-5 play. Cole emphasizes how Jokic, a Top 10 player in the NBA, is mostly responsible for the team’s success even if the Nuggets combo has won a championship and is still the team’s favorite this season. Joker led the club in all three categories with 26.4-12.4-9, despite the fact that Jamal Murray, who averaged 21.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists during the regular season, is a respectable ball handler.
