With the NFL draft drawing near, the Chicago Bears are thoroughly assessing USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who is predicted to be the first choice. As a result of the Bears’ exhaustive evaluation process, Williams’ visit to Chicago as a top-30 prospect this week marked a significant milestone.
The Bears went all out for Williams during his visit, taking him to supper at the posh Sophia Steaks in Lake Forest. They probably performed medical examinations there as well, something Williams had declined to do at the NFL Scouting Combine.
REPORT: The #Bears took Caleb Williams to dinner in LA, with Jamie Foxx and Quavo there.
Chicago was very impressed to see how humble Caleb was and how he behaved around A-list celebrities.

A fruitful visit
Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Chicago reports that the visit was a success, a sign of the Bears’ increasing respect for Williams. The Bears had already dined with Williams prior to his pro day, drawing A-list celebrities to the event, so this sentiment is not new. Schrager told “The Herd.” ,
“The pro day, which was a couple of weeks ago, they took him to a place called ‘Bird Streets’ in Los Angeles, which is a private members club,” “It was kind of cool for the Bears guys — I spoke to sources there — to see how Caleb kinda operates in that LA scene. At that dinner, they’re there at a table. But there are also celebrities. I think Quavo from the Migos was there. And Jamie Foxx was there. “The one thing that the Bears have told me in that interaction was ‘He moves quietly.’ He’s not a ‘Look at me!’ guy. If anything, he’s kinda quiet and a little bit more reserved than you would imagine from a Heisman Trophy, No. 1 overall pick, who made all this NIL money.”
NFL source Peter Schrager claims that the Bears were eager to watch Williams in the Los Angeles social scene—a test that he appeared to pass with flying colors. The Bears’ faith in Williams’ character seems to grow with every encounter, eliminating any remaining questions over his fit for the team.
