The much awaited and much contested exhibition fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is getting closer by the second. The battle is scheduled to take place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and the last details are being finalized. Even though it’s a showcase, both combatants will be subject to arbitrary drug testing.
Mike Tyson stops smoking cannabis
In addition, Tyson will need to pass the EEG and EKG tests, as is customary for boxers in Texas who are older than 36. Tyson is agreeing to abide by the official rules, which state that he is not allowed to smoke cannabis.
Tyson declared he wouldn’t light up until after the bout. He said,
Maybe it has something to do with my tripolar tendencies or something. But I don’t think I am going to smoke for this fight. I think I am going to be very irritable and nasty… Normally I do, but for this particular fight I think I’m going to go pretty raw and naked.
Before the bout, Tyson seemed to genuinely want to be agitated and displeased. That might be bad news for Paul since a more composed Tyson might have been easier to deal with in the ring.
Whatever transpires, the Dallas Cowboys stadium on July 20 is sure to be a sight.
