It appears that the Los Angeles Lakers have finished their search for a new head coach. The majority believed that JJ Redick was the front-runner for the position in the last few weeks. But there has been a recent campaign to promote Dan Hurley, who is reportedly the team’s top pick. LeBron James, 39, tweeted a tribute to the UConn legend amid the recent hubbub.

Hurley arrived at UConn in 2018, and throughout the following several years, he established his program and began to produce success.

In 2023 and 2024, the 51-year-old led his team to consecutive victories in the NCAA Division I Tournament.
It makes sense, then, why everyone has been focusing on him lately. King James said on X in April how much he appreciated the coach and his team. On Twitter (Now X) LeBron James wrote,
“He’s so DAMN GOOD!!! Along with his staff. Super creative with their O! Love it.”
Hurley’s name is now being promoted for the Lakers head coach job. LeBron will be satisfied with the new hire despite his pal Redick not getting the job, because of his respect for Hurley.
According to a recent report by Adrian Wojnarowski for Sports Center, Hurley is now quite likely to be in control in Los Angeles. He declared,
“The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing a massive, long-term offer for the Connecticut Huskies coach Dan Hurley to become the next Lakers coach.”
