3 NBA Legends Victor Wembanyama Should Workout With in the Offseason Are Listed by Kevin Garnett

Victor Wembanyama, the 2024 Rookie of the Year, demonstrated that the excitement surrounding him was well-founded. He demonstrated some amazing offensive maneuvers and emerged as a contender for Defensive Player of the Year. Kevin Garnett found the rookie to be impressive. The fact that he was upset that the San Antonio Spurs center lost out on defensive player of the year shows how much he values his abilities. He is obviously eager to help Wembanyama develop into a full-fledged player.

Paul Pierce and Garnett talked about whose brains the 7’3″ center can choose to hone his skills on his KG: Certified pod. The story that Wembanyama was working out with Jamal Crawford, the master of dribbling, started the conversation.

Knowing this, KG encouraged Wemby to train under Tim Duncan and Hakeem Olajuwon. He said,

If I’m Wemby, I am doing a three-parter. I am working with Jamal Crawford, then I go find Timmy[Duncan]. I go find Dream[Olajuwon].. He need to go tap into some knowledge, he need to go see one of the senseis[Japanese word for a teacher].”

Should Victor Wembanyama take Kevin Garnett’s advice seriously

Pierce said that the Frenchman can also accept Kevin Durant’s assistance in the midst of KG’s proposal. He wasn’t persuaded, though, because he thinks that might not be the best course of action given that Durant and Wemby are still Western Conference rivals. Pierce then proposed that the Spurs center go work with LeBron James as well.

Garnett disapproved of this proposal. He proposed that if James’ colleague Anthony Davis saw this kind of progress, he wouldn’t understand that LBJ is developing someone who would be a serious threat to him in a matchup.

All things considered, KG’s recommendations make sense because Hakeem Olajuwon’s post-play has enhanced both Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. As a Spurs legend, Duncan may assist with the fundamentals in the interim and help the young player flourish under head coach Gregg Popovich. Other than that, the 19-year-old has already selected Jamal Crawford, who is a good fit.
