When it comes to confidence, NBA star Anthony Edwards doesn’t hold back. The young Minnesota Timberwolves player is making headlines for his bold statement about being the number one option in Team US ahead of the Olympics, where he’ll be playing alongside basketball legends like LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
In a recent interview, Edwards didn’t hesitate to proclaim his status as the team’s go-to guy.

He averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists on 46.1 percent shooting from the floor and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc last season.
But he’ll find himself on a team where he isn’t expected to do it all himself.
Just in terms of guards alone, Edwards will compete against superstars like Stephen Curry and Devin Booker. Fellow rising star Tyrese Haliburton will also be on the team, as will NBA champion Jrue Holiday.
Of course, Edwards’ statement has raised some eyebrows, especially considering the star power of his teammates. LeBron James and Kevin Durant are two of the greatest players of their generation, with multiple MVP awards and championships between them. But Edwards isn’t one to back down from a challenge, and he’s ready to prove himself on the biggest stage in basketball.
