Draymond Green Didn’t Want Klay Thompson to Be in Golden State Warriors

“You attract what you are, not what you want,” as Tony Gaskins once stated. You have to reflect what you want. Because of the power of your mind, your life will suffer if you give it negative thoughts.

Klay Thompson in action for the Warriors

It is an endless tale. Everybody has experienced moments when being around negativity in a certain area had a negative effect on the others. The Golden State Warriors locker room serves as the setting for this story. Draymon Green discussed his motivations for wanting Klay Thompson, a former teammate, to quit.

This San Francisco squad entered a new chapter thanks to Thompson, and they went on to become one of the most prestigious dynasties in NBA history. He won four championships in his thirteen years at GSW.

Draymond Green talks about Klay Thompson

Although it is well known that at first nobody anticipated Thompson’s departure, time eventually proved that the front office had other expectations. Every year, Kley gave excellent performances, but in the most recent one, the squad contemplated his leaving because of the toxic environment around him.

Green addressed this issue in a conversation with the media outlet “TheVolumeSports”. He said,

“I do know the joy that basketball brings him and like it brought sadness, it brought unhappiness last year for him. A part of me wanted Klay to leave. Not wanting him to leave in the sense of wanting him to leave, but wanting him to leave because you only want to see him be the guy you know he is.” He wished him success and expressed the hope that he would lead a happy and healthy life again:

“Number one goal is to see them happy and enjoying what they do because you care about their well-being”.

Both parties stand to gain from this arrangement in the end, and everyone appears content with it. For the time being, however.
