The 36-year-old, who will likely start as point guard for the squad, will play in his first Olympics. Curry last competed for his nation in the FIBA 2014 World Cup, where he helped Team USA earn a gold medal. The two-time World Cup champion and four-time NBA champion expressed his excitement to add an Olympic gold medal to his amazing collection of trophies, stating,
“We got 39 days or so to get locked in to go get this gold medal. 12 amazing talented guys ready to come together for one goal, so I’m hyped for the goal. This is 10 years since I was on Team USA back in 2024, so I’m hyped to be back.”

Does Stepehen Curry make USA favorites again?
For the sixth consecutive year, Team USA is the clear favorite to win the Men’s Basketball competition, although they will have fierce competition from nations like Canada and France. The nation is sending its best player to Paris in an attempt to win another gold medal at the FIBA World Cup in order to avoid a repetition of their fourth-place showing in 2023.
Among Team USA’s greatest Olympic teams ever is the one that is traveling to France. Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant, who will play together in a competitive environment for the first time in their distinguished careers, are the team’s leaders. Steve Kerr, the four-time NBA champion head coach, will be in command of the team.
In order to aid in the unit’s chemistry before their journey to Paris, he has scheduled practice matches against the USA Select Team. Twelve bright young players, under the direction of Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley, make up the USA Select Team. They will compete against Team USA to demonstrate their abilities.
Curry’s enthusiasm ahead of the Olympics should be a warning to the other teams playing in the event, since he has yet to have anything but success when representing his country.
