Despite numerous requests for Patrick Mahomes to be acknowledged as the best player in the NFL, former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has provided greater support for Tyreek Hill‘s current ranking as the league’s best player.

The guy from the Miami Dolphins was the first wide receiver to ever be ranked #1 on the NFL’s Top 100 list, which was recently announced. Although he was ranked fourth, quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is widely considered the top player in the National Football League.
Chiefs supporters and other notable members of the team have strongly disagreed with that, but Newton believes that Hill is deserving of the top spot.

They posted a video of him talking on X with the description, answered about the situation during the ‘4 and 1’ show : “Tyreek Hill was voted the #1 player in the NFL by his peers, and @CameronNewton agrees. But there’s one person who should be the MOST grateful for @cheetah.”

“Should anybody feel disrespected?” the host inquired. “Nah, that’s a solid list right there,” Cam retorted. The NFL’s most dangerous player is Tyreek Hill.
“The person who should be so grateful for Tyreek Hill is Jaylen Waddle. You cannot cover a man like Tyreek Hill with one person, so therefore he’s going to take two people. And when I say doubling a person, it doesn’t necessarily always mean two people are solely dedicated to one person. It’s more or less saying we’re clouding the coverage towards him.
“Now, with a stronger run game, you have to bring a guy into the box. You know they ain’t got enough people to contend with the run, right, to stop Tyreek Hill. So, you know it’s only gonna be one person that’s gonna be on me, Jaylen Waddle. You know you’re going to have one-on-one. It’s almost like Joel Embiid playing like Shaquille O’Neal.”
