No matter the sport, there is always a group of fans or attention seekers who are toxic. They are not genuine fans but rather individuals seeking attention by trying to provoke athletes and other people, whether it’s on the court or on social media. Dijonai Carrington of the Connecticut Sun has unfortunately fallen into the trap of giving too much attention to a group of Caitlin Clark fans who know they can provoke a reaction from her with just a few words. Following the Fever’s first win against the Sun this year, Carrington, who had previously boasted about shutting down Clark, immediately took to social media.

Wednesday night was a different story, though, as Clark set a WNBA rookie record for 3-pointers by passing Rhyne Howard´s 85 in 2022. She would finish the night with 19 points and five assists while Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 23.
Carrington played well, scoring a team-high 19 points and adding six steals, but made only 1 of 5 attempts from deep and battled foul trouble in the fourth quarter.
She was seen hushing the crowd after hitting here only triple of the evening, only for Clark to reignite the arena by draining a 3-pointer of her own on the next possession.
Indiana (15-16) moves on to face Angel Reese and the Sky in Chicago on Saturday night, while Connecticut (22-8) heads to Washington for a Sunday matinee with the Mystics.
Once people say that she was trigger let’s say the discourse didn’t get any better from both sides.
There is a faction of WNBA players who appear to dislike Caitlin Clark simply because of the negative things said about them on social media. To those players, it could be said that this kind of situation is common in big-time sports, as it has been happening in major sports leagues since social media became mainstream in the 2010s.
