The nation’s next president, Vice President Kamala Harris, was endorsed by Stephen Curry, the three-point-shooting Golden State Warrior and NBA All-Star who recently won a gold medal with Team USA at the Olympics, during a video appearance at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night.
Around his neck, wearing his gold medal, Curry noted that the Olympics’ “unity on and off the court” “reminded us all that together we can do all things and continue to inspire the world.”
Stephen Curry said, “And that’s why I believe that Kamala as president could bring unity back and continue to move our country forward,” . “This is about preserving hope and belief in our country, making sure families can be taken care of during their most precious times.”
Stephen Curry follows in Steve Kerr’s support
Curry’s words were made two days after Steve Kerr, the coach of the Paris-based Team USA and the multiple-champion Warriors teams, gave a live speech at the Democrats’ convention in Chicago.
Additionally, he supported Harris and her campaign companion for vice president, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
According to Kerr, a leader must “tell the truth,” “display dignity,” and “care for and love the people that they are leading.” He added that Harris and Walz possess those attributes. It was evident from his implication that the former president Trump does not.
One of the most liberal voices in the NBA and a former sparring partner of Trump, Kerr added that “we can — in the words of the great Steph Curry — we can tell Donald Trump, ‘Night, night.'” This will happen when the election results are tabulated in November.
Curry indicates that the game is almost over with his “night, night” gesture, which he does after scoring against opponents on the court.
