According to reports, “explosives” were discovered in a car close to a Long Island rally site where Donald Trump was supposed to appear on Wednesday night.
The information was released shortly after a potential assassin was apprehended following a security lapse at his Palm Beach golf club. One America News Network was supposedly informed by sources in the Nassau County Police Department that a blue barrel had been taken out and that the rally site’s perimeter had been breached.
At that point, sources claim that a K9 sweep discovered explosive devices inside a car, and the driver fled into the woods. According to One America News , a source told them : “No one saw if he had anything on him, they just saw him take off running. A lot of cars are now parking, they’re lining up on Hempstead Turnpike, just parking on the grass. Even over at Eisenhower Park, they’re just parking over there,”
Supporters of Donald Trump are anticipated at the rally
The announcement was made just hours before Trump was scheduled to speak at Nassau Coliseum. Many people had already shown up for the event; some had even set up camp overnight in anticipation of the 7 p.m. start time.
Since the July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, the former president has mostly shifted to indoor activities. Trump was struck in the right ear, and the would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was eliminated by secret service officers.
While Trump was playing golf at his Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach over the weekend, a shooter brandished an AK-47. Trump was escorted to safety as Secret Service agents opened fire on the man, who was also carrying a backpack and a GoPro camera.
On Monday, police made video of Ryan Wesley Routh’s arrest public. His arms and shirt were pulled over his head as he fought with the officers. Police were able to locate him after a witness observed him driving off in a stolen black Nissan SUV. He is accused of pointing a gun at Trump while he was playing golf.
Prior to the attempt, Routh may have spent up to twelve hours in the golf course’s undergrowth. He was charged with two offenses on Monday morning: possessing a firearm while a felon and possessing a pistol with its serial number obliterated.
Trump has accused Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden of using language that incited more violence against him.
