C.J. Stroud Says He Wasn’t Trying To ‘Little Bro’ Caleb Williams During Their Postgame Interaction

So we all remember that video where C.J. Stroud was spotted with Caleb Williams at the Bears-Texans game, right? Well, there’s been quite a bit of buzz going around about it, and now C.J. is setting the record straight. He says he wasn’t trying to “little bro” Caleb in that video.

Some people thought C.J. was trying to show off in front of Caleb or act like he was the big shot. But according to C.J., that’s not what was going on at all.

Stroud discussed the conversation with reporters Wednesday. He explained how older players approached him on the field last year to offer helpful advice so he wanted to pay it forward now.

Following Houston’s 19-13 win over the Bears, Stroud and Williams met for the customary exchange of pleasantries.

But what some saw as providing constructive criticism—Stroud telling the rookie to “stop taking those hits”—others viewed as picking the wrong time and place to give a quick lesson.

Not to mention, Stroud and Williams are the same age (22), so it looked a bit odd to see the former act as a veteran mentor to the latter.

So, there you have it. C.J. Stroud wants everyone to know that he wasn’t trying to “little bro” Caleb Williams in that video. They were just enjoying a football game together. Let’s give the guy a break, alright?
