Travis Kelce, Who Missed the Chiefs’ 2023 Opener, Is Ready Now

With another season under his belt and another Super Bowl victory to his name, Travis Kelce enters the 2024 campaign well-prepared. The Chiefs tight end, who turns 35 in October, appeared to be letting up last season as he failed to reach 1000 yards for the first time in seven years and even dropped seven passes. But unlike last season, when he missed the season opener against the Lions, he intends to turn things around and will be prepared to play against the Ravens.

Travis said he felt very old last season after missing the first game for the first time in nine years in an episode of the New Heights podcast. He also thinks this is the reason the Chiefs lost their opening game of the 2023 campaign.

Travis Kelce speaks about what went wrong last year’s opening game

The talented tight end wants to put everything behind him in order to concentrate on the next game against the Ravens. He disclosed that he is working hard as well:

“I sucked Jason. I felt older than I feel right now. That’s why (we) lost that game.Now.. I’m so done. You know.. I’m not even bringing up last season. I’m so done with this, done with talking about last year after the ring ceremony. So yeah! I’m so thinking forward, thinking about this game. Well..I’m so focused on this year, trying to get better every single week.”

Due to a bone bruise on his knee and an ankle strain, Kelce was unable to play against the Lions. Now, though, he’s in good physical shape and has been training his physique to reach his best athletic form by adhering to a strict regimen. Travis Kelce had already made references to a potential retirement, citing the physical toll that his numerous bumps and bruises have taken.
